Frequently Asked Questions

How do I hook up my DVD Player to…
  1. TV with only a coax input?

    a:
You will need an RF Modulator to convert the line level audio/video signal to an RF signal your TV can understand. You will also need another coax cable to get back to the TV.

  2. TV using A/V inputs for VCR, satellite, or cable box?

    a:
You can watch your other devices on the RF (coax input) but not your DVD player. You can change them to RF (using coax to link them up), or you can use an A/V switching device to bring all of these sources into one input.  You will also need another set of A/V cables to complete the hookup.

  3. Home Theatre system?

    a:
You must use either the optical digital output, or coaxial digital output to your 5.1 Dolby digital receiver. These are the only way to get the full surround sound effects the newer movies were made with. If you don’t have a 5.1 level Dolby digital receiver with these inputs, get one soon. It’ll change your movie experience tremendously! Remember this unit can also function as a switching device. (see previous question).

All of these products (along with the DVD players) are available at Thrasher Radio & TV.   We also can make you a drawing, showing you how to hookup all of your A/V components.  Remember to bring all your owners manuals, so we know what you have!
